Explore

Anywhere and everywhere! What kind of bugs can the kids find in your yard? What about how many different types of flowers? Or even all the different birds that find a home in one of your trees. You dont have to leave your yard or apartment complex to explore. Whats great about this is if your having a bad body/brain day, you can watch and support the exploring but you can get comfortable with a good book or your camera and watch your babies have fun.
Yard Work Scavenger Hunt

We love this one. Yard work means fresh air...YES!. While giving the kids jobs to help around the yard, you can also write items that they can find while doing the yard work and give them a certain amount of points for each item they find. Then have prizes based on the amount of points they got. When its all done the yard looks fresh and new while the kids are admiring everything they found in the process.
Enjoy The Weather, Rain Or Shine

Feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin, watching the beautiful chaos that comes from a storm, or just enjoying the silence that the snow seems to bring. The weather is forever changing, and when its safe to do so, theres nothing more beautiful than watching everything it has to offer. Or watching your littles enjoy it in the best way they know how.
Get Ideas For Arts And Crafts

Go for a walk/ride and study the scenery. Take a bag with you and gather leaves, sticks, rocks and even dirt. Then use them to recreate the image as you remember it while also adding your own flare to make it the perfect version for you.
Have A Picnic

On the cement or in the grass, its always nice doing something different. Especially when it comes to an everyday necessity like eating. For some, like myself, sitting on the floor is not easy and getting up from the floor is impossible. So eating at a picnic table is ideal. There are certainly other options though. I sit in my wheelchair and use a portable tray for things like this. It works well and i still get to enjoy the time with my family.
Go On An Adventure

Going on adventures have become a bit more difficult now that I don't have the mobility that I use to. Luckily, my family understands that I am going to do the best I can, but at some point, I have to park the walker and watch while their adventure continues. This may sound a little "wow, you just get left behind?" But truthfully, I LOVE it. Its my time to just be. I get to sit with myself and take in the beauty around me.
